THE PROBLEM WITH OUR DEMOCRACY HERE IN CANADA ....
The problem with our democracy in Canada is that there is so very little democracy here in Canada.
We - the people - have just about NO power. The politicians have a lot of power ... but from what I can see They Don't Work For Us. They seem to work for Big Business and the .001%.
And an even bigger problem is ... WE don't seem to know about that or care about it. Ho Hum. We vote every 4 years ... and after that the politicians don't want to hear from us. And they have a huge amount of control over our lives. That's why we are all eating GMO foods. And it's why we are subsidizing Fracking. And it's why we have a Health Care disaster and a Housing disaster. It's crazy.
And as long as we put up with this, it is only going to get worse. They are turning Canada into a 3rd world country ... and we don't seem to get it.
And voting for one or another of THEIR politicians will not get us anywhere. What we need is REAL democracy. Meaning that WE have a voice in our own governance. But nobody at the top seems to want that to happen, and they will not allow it to happen. Canada is a treasure trove of 'resources' that they want. And that's all they care about. We, the people who live here, are totally irrelevant to our leadership class. And we don't seem to care.
